Official: Russia to keep food imports ban if sanctions not repealed

MOSCOW, Jun 2 (PRIME) -- Russia will retain the ban on food imports if Western countries do not repeal sanctions, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters Tuesday.

Russia’s further steps will depend on actions of the countries which have introduced anti-Russian sanctions, he said.

“If the sanctions are not going to be abolished, this means that the embargo will not be repealed as well. Sure, we have no reasons to revoke it. There may be some surgical corrections, but there were ones last year, when we delisted some products and listed some others. These surgical things are possible but we plan no radical solutions,” Dvorkovich said.
